The clients desire for inner city living drove them to create this stylish four bedroom family home with an emphasis on entertainment. Effortless in its elegance, the front facade featuring full length vertical fins add a striking element to the homes white contemporary design.

As you enter the home you are greeted by the impressive polished hard wood staircase engineered on black steel stringers. The upper level open plan living spaces are filled with natural light, using large glass stacker doors to take full advantage of the stunning Townsville city views.

The main living area is centred round the gourmet kitchen featuring a large scullery with integrated appliances and ample bench space of engineered stone.  The chief kitchen bench decked in stainless steel is a standout element with an integrated splashback highlighted by a timber feature top and waterfall ends. This is all elegantly finished by the LED backlit feature wall. Leading from the kitchen out through the expansive doors the spacious patio seamlessly merges the indoor and outdoor entertainment areas. The patio is enveloped by glass balustrade to provide arresting impact which encompass the magical views.

On this upper level, the home also boast a generous, fully insulated theatre room and comfortable family room for relaxing.

Situated on the ground floor, the main bedroom is drenched in sunlight which streams through glass stacker doors. This also takes full advantage of the views and natural breezes. The ensuite has a double vanity and shower, with plenty of storage.

The lower floor also includes a further three bedrooms, the main bathroom, activities room and laundry. With contemporary floor to ceiling tiling in the bathrooms, this home has it all.

Energy Efficiency

Set over two levels, the design and selections of this modern home was driven by creative vision to maximise energy efficiency. The limitations presented by the size and orientation of the site were proactively managed as part of the design phase. The combination of energy efficient choices, the use of natural products and passive solar home design has allowed this family to essentially live off the grid for the majority of the year.

This home has fully insulated walls and ceiling in addition to solar powered roof vents. It is drenched in white to reflect as much of the harsh sun rays as possible and uses Low E tinted glass to reduce the ambient heat generated through the windows. Incorporate the use of surfmist colorbond roofing with its unique solar reflectance properties specifically designed for our harsh Australian summers; and this residence is well protected from above. The inclusion of breezeways and the elevated design of the dwelling work well to enhance the natural air flow. The renewable energy systems include a heat pump hot water system, 5.2kW solar power and 19.2kW energy storage bank. Add in state-of-the-art appliances, LED lighting throughout; the result is a combination of features which all work together to achieve a highly energy efficient residence.
